We do not have a board of directors. We are three people who care about the sky above Tokyo and want to share what we know.

The Japan Field Station is our operational base in Tokyo. It is not a separate legal entity. All business is conducted through JP Weather Sky LLC, the Colorado-registered company. The field station serves as our observation post, photography studio, and correspondence address for Japan-based inquiries. Visitors are welcome by appointment only. We do not maintain regular office hours.

JP Weather Sky LLC engages in the following business activities: publication of educational content about atmospheric phenomena and sky observation; sale of digital guides and photography collections; consultation services for photographers, filmmakers, and writers seeking atmospheric data for Tokyo-based projects; and public education through workshops, presentations, and partnerships with schools and universities.
We do not provide weather forecasts. We do not offer travel planning services. We do not sell physical products. Our revenue comes from digital product sales and occasional consulting engagements. We are not affiliated with the Japan Meteorological Agency, the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, or any government meteorological service. We are independent observers.

David Park — Co-founder and Technical Lead. Based in Tokyo. Responsible for data infrastructure, API integrations, mapping, and technical development.
Yuki Mori — Contributor and Science Editor. Based in Tokyo. Responsible for meteorological fact-checking, cloud identification guides, and scientific accuracy.
Tax Information
JP Weather Sky LLC is taxed as a disregarded entity for United States federal income tax purposes. We collect and remit sales tax on digital product sales to customers in Colorado as required by state law. We do not collect VAT or consumption tax on international sales. Customers outside the United States are responsible for any applicable taxes in their jurisdiction.
Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from our services shall first be addressed through direct negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Denver, Colorado, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The governing law is the law of the State of Colorado. Nothing in this section limits any statutory consumer rights you may have in your jurisdiction.
